My personal life deeply impacts my art. I painted this piece in 2025 while grieving. This landscape scene was a joy to paint and have space to create even in the midst of pain.  The joy in painting comes from knowing that even when I am hurting, there is hope to be found. That the pain I feel now will change and that joy that will come. Joy to me isn’t an ecstatic, over-the-top feeling that depends on circumstances but instead is a deep feeling of peace that comes from trusting God.
